Holden Street

A young North Fitzroy family had outgrown their workers cottage, and the 1980s addition tacked onto the back wasn’t helping anyone. Damp, cold, possum-infested and thoroughly unloved, it had to go.

We stripped it back to the bones and replaced it with a compact, open living and dining space anchored by a large steel door that folds the whole room into the sunny backyard.

Simple, considered and built for a growing family, exactly what the house always deserved.
